Mahmoud Elbagoury is a Chief Audit Executive and GRC Strategist with deep expertise spanning internal audit, enterprise risk management, corporate governance, compliance, internal control, and anti-fraud.
His professional career includes leadership roles at KPMG, where he served as GRC Leader and Member of the Board of Directors’ Advisory Committee, followed by senior executive positions across investment management, real estate, industrial, telecommunications, and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) throughout the MENA region.
Mahmoud currently serves as a Member of the Global Content Advisory Group at the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), an Advisory Council Member at the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and Regional Director for the Enterprise Risk Management Academy (ERMA). He also serves as a Non-Executive Director and Board Committee Member for various corporates across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, he has collaborated with international institutions including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
He holds the CIA, CISA, CFE, and CRISC professional credentials, along with the Integrated Data Privacy Professional (IDPP) and Integrated Artificial Intelligence Professional (IAIP) certifications from OCEG. Mahmoud is currently a PhD Scholar in Risk and Crisis Management, holds an MBA in Corporate Governance, and has completed executive education programs at Harvard University and leading European business schools in Internal Audit, ESG, Private Equity, Credit Scoring, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
